Job Title: Legal Internship, Spring
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Legal Internship Program during the spring semester.
- Assist in the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau, which focuses on protecting Massachusetts residents from discrimination, fraud, unfair labor or business practices, and other crimes.
- Work within specific divisions of the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau, such as the Consumer Advocacy and Response Division (CARD).
- Help resolve disputes with businesses, refer individuals to consumer assistance services, and address complaints against businesses.
- Support actions under the Massachusetts False Claims Act against securities professionals who mislead or defraud municipalities or state government entities.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the division to which the intern is assigned, which may include legal research, writing, and case preparation.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship program is designed for students currently enrolled in law school.
- Individuals who have completed law school are not eligible for this program.
- Interns are accepted on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs and requests of the individual divisions within the Attorney General’s Office.
Salary Information:
- The internship positions are unpaid.
