Job Title: Senior Counsel - Specialty Finance / Financial Risk Solutions

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on complex legal matters to senior-level leaders, focusing on insurance regulatory matters and transactions involving financial insurance and risk transfer solutions.
- Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to financial lines insurance products and related transactions, including drafting and negotiating various agreements such as insurance policies, collateral agreements, term sheets, NDAs, and reinsurance agreements.
- Manage and oversee cross-border insurance and reinsurance transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant insurance laws, regulations, and standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including engagement with ., Bermudian, Cayman, and European counsel, to support business objectives.
- Stay informed about changes in insurance laws and regulations, advising the company accordingly.
- Assist with claims handling matters and preparation for dispute resolution proceedings and negotiations as needed.
- Regularly interact with senior leaders in the Office of the Chief Legal Officer or the company on legal matters within areas of legal expertise, influencing company decision-making.
- Create practical and effective solutions to complex legal issues, developing creative solutions to unique legal problems.
- Lead highly complex, strategic, or sensitive legal matters, understanding business partner needs.
- Keep senior leaders and management informed of case law and new legislation, considering the long-term business and strategic consequences of possible outcomes.
- Deliver difficult messages or news and challenge business partners when necessary, responding to challenges to advice and counsel directly and effectively.
- Build and maintain a broad network of established relationships, both internal and external, particularly in recognized areas of subject matter expertise.
- Work independently and may lead teams to resolve highly complex legal and organizational issues.
- Make recommendations about and ensure compliance with approved outside counsel budget.
- Hire and develop talent, providing consistent coaching and feedback.

Education and Experience Information:
- Education: Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
- License/Certification/Designation: Must be fully licensed in accordance with Office of the Chief Legal Officer policy, in good standing, and in compliance with all continuing legal education requirements in the state(s) of practice.
- Experience: Typically has 15 or more years of relevant legal experience, with potential management experience. Requires significant experience with or knowledge of one or more areas of law, complex legal practices and procedures, project management concepts, and techniques. Considered a subject matter authority within areas of legal expertise.

Salary Information:
- The national salary range for Senior Counsel: $139, - $272,
- The expected starting salary range for Senior Counsel: $146, - $244,

Additional Information:
- The position is full-time and remote, available to be filled within any of the lower 48 . states.
- The position is not eligible for overtime (Exempt).
- Normal office environment with some travel required.
