Job Responsibilities
The Patent Agent will work collaboratively with attorneys and clients across various innovative industries such as medical devices and electronics. The role involves building and managing both . and international patent portfolios. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications
- Conducting due diligence reviews
- Performing freedom-to-operate and patent landscape analyses
- Partnering with colleagues and clients to navigate complex intellectual property challenges and uncover strategic opportunities
Education and Experience Information
Candidates must have a degree in engineering and/or computer science with a minimum of two years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution. While a background in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. Strong academic credentials, excellent analytical abilities, and polished writing skills are essential. Registration to practice before the USPTO is strongly preferred.
Salary Information
The salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $145,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for merit-based raises and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
