Job Responsibilities

As a 2026 2L Finance Summer Associate, you will be an integral part of the Finance Business Unit at a leading law firm. Your responsibilities will include:

- Participating as a full member of the law firm's 2026 Summer Associate Program within the Finance Business Unit.
- Engaging in substantive work across various assignments within the firm's diverse practices and offices, specifically within the Finance sector. This includes exposure to practice groups such as Banking & Finance, Public Finance, Real Estate, Restructuring, and Structured Finance.
- Undertaking work assignments, networking opportunities, and career coaching under the guidance of law firm partner sponsors.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the practice of law through opportunities such as shadowing attorneys, attending national and local trainings, and participating in workshops aimed at improving legal writing skills and public speaking.
- Participating in unique programming and events designed to foster relationships with fellow Summer Associates and law firm attorneys, which may include activities like making sushi, attending baseball games, karaoke, and more.

Education and Experience Information

Applicants for the 2026 2L Finance Summer Associate position must meet the following educational requirements and experience:

- Must be a rising 2L (class of 2027) pursuing a JD at an ABA-accredited law school.
- 2Ls attending a part-time program or pursuing a JD/MBA degree at an ABA-accredited law school, who are not graduating in 2027, are also eligible to apply.
- Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in the Finance Business Unit, which may include relevant past work experience and/or academic exposure in finance-related fields, are required.
- Applicants must provide a resume, transcript (including Spring semester grades when available), and a cover letter articulating their interest in both the position and the firm.

Salary Information

The expected gross salary for the 2026 2L Finance Summer Associate position is $4, per week. The law firm is committed to offering a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package for its attorneys and staff, which includes:

The compensation and benefits information is based on the law firm's estimates as of the date of publication and may be subject to modifications in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on various job-related factors, including qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, and geography.
